Towards Sustainability

The concept of sustainability represents a pattern of resource use that aims to match human needs and an improvement in quality of life while preserving the environment so that these needs can be met not only in the present, but for future generations also. Present policies of production and consumption tend to both increase the companies and consumers’ wealth and richness and cause dangerous environmental risks: such as excessive use of fragile, limited natural resources, pollution, climate change and industrial waste... Sustainability for producers and consumers, therefore, implies a reduction in terms of ecologic impact on Earth, through the creation and use of products with a lower environmental impact, energy and waste conservation, and by adopting more responsible lifestyles. This needs to be done both for our ecosystemm and to work within international environmental laws, but most of all for the final consumer.

Boffi's Sustainability

In Boffi's history and corporate culture, the subject of sustainability has always been taken seriously and at the core of business principles. Sustainability is part of Boffi's values, culture, creative technology and enterpreneurship, and is part of every decision-making phase in planning, production and control. The continuous improvement concerning the environmental, social and economic sustainability derives from a strong synergy between Boffi and its employees, location, designers, suppliers, consumers and final markets. These connections with its stakeholders aim at a continuous improvement, development and increase in value of Boffi, while working within enivornmental laws. Boffi’s challenge is that of making products sustainable, by improving environmental and social performance, through innovation in product design and development, service processing and management. This challenge is thought to offer protection for the final user, who can choose products on the grounds of their environmental and social quality. The social values of this project were firstly interpreted by the company's founder, Piero Boffi, who saw the development of his company, from workshop to international brand, part of the realization of "Made in Italy" worldwide.

To keep improving the company’s own social and environmental policies, programmes and performances, thanks to technological progress, scientific knowledge and a focus on wider needs and expectations; To constantly check the company’s conformity towards the principles of sustainable development, by respecting national law in the countries where Boffi is present

People and territory

To respect the environmental standards in international, national and local areas, even where Boffi’s presence in those areas is through collaborations with third parties, projects and research and development. To pursue a spirit of collaboration and participation within the company by stimulating the involvement of all employees to Boffi’s corporate values. training and motivating the employees, so as to help them work more responsibly towards the environment, through training courses about social responsability and healthcare; providing the employees with safe and comfortable workplaces.

Products and processes

To plan a reduction in energy and water consumption, as well as the removal of waste materials and polluting substances so as to minimize the environmental impact of products and productive technologies; To develop new products which guarantee quality, reliability and safety; To use materials and processes which are ecologically sound, and to extend these practices along the entire supply chain; To respect international and national laws.

To communicate the guiding principles of the company to all stakeholders (citizens, customers, suppliers, etc), even through periodical publications, meetings and conventions; To involve the customers through training, education and the promotion of Boffi sustainability; To inspire in suppliers and dealers a collaborative spirit and mutual respect of corporate principles of sustainability through the sharing of research and development projects;
