Er studierte an der Kunsthochschule in Braunschweig (Hochschule f\u00fcr Bildende K\u00fcnste) und im Jahr 1981 wechselt er zur Kunstakademie in D\u00fcsseldorf.<\/p>\n

Er entwarf in Zusammenarbeit mit Ingo Maurer die Halogenlampe MINIMUM, die in verschiedenen europ\u00e4ischen Museen pr\u00e4sentiert und in die permanente Kollektion des Museums f\u00fcr angewandte Kunst von K\u00f6ln seit 1989 eingef\u00fcgt ist.<\/p>\n

Im gleichen Jahr gr\u00fcndete er sein B\u00fcro Told Cologne. Ab 1990 verwirklichte und entwickelte er Prototypen von minimalistischen und linearen Gegenst\u00e4nden aus Stahl und Holz neben seiner T\u00e4tigkeit als K\u00fcnstler. Er stellte in K\u00f6ln, Chicago, Mailand und Korttrjik (Belgien) aus. Er arbeitete mit anderen italienischen Unternehmen wie Allglass, Boffi, Cappellini, Porro, Living Divani zusammen.<\/p>\n

F\u00fcr Boffi entwarf er im Jahr 2002 die Abzugshaube Flat
