Essential lines, monomaterial appearance

Wall hung, modular units with handle-less fronts and three different door opening methods: hinged, pull-out or coplanar sliding. The doors are gripped (and opened) through the specific handle-rail, mounted on the upper part of the cabinet. The aluminium handle-rail can be covered in the same finish as the top or the front to give a single-material look to the composition.

Free Zone offers a wide range of composition possibilities, starting from the types of compatible washbasins with the square-edged top: top-mounted, built-in, under-mounted or moulded flush-mounted. A wall hung tall unit with door completes this bathroom collection. For the materials of tops, panels, fronts and doors, the choice ranges from all Boffi collections, from lacquers to woods, from stones to composites, from glass to metals. Among the latest novelties, it is possible to use the composite MDI and the solid wood finishes Freehand (characterized by irregular horizontal furrows and horizontal grain) and Shades (characterized by regular vertical furrows and vertical grain). The under-mounted handle rail can be produced in all finishes available for the doors, maintaining a monomateric look.

The coplanar sliding enhances the continuity of the composition.

The polyester lacquering is carried out by a process of applying paints on MDF panels, with several coats. The surfaces are sanded with different coarse-grained and fine-grained sandpapers. Then they are polished using brushes impregnated with abrasive wax. The result obtained is a very glossy surface (close to the mirror effect) that reaches 95 gloss. Polyester is a very resistant material, practically waterproof; its surface does not absorb, but is sensitive to scratches. The scratched surface can be re-smoothed and re- polished or even repaired adding material and then by sanding and smoothing it again. Three layers of paint coat each surface, it means 900 g/m2 (ca. 1 mm thick); nine layers of paint coat each edge (ca. 3 mm thick). It is sensitive to light if directly exposed for very long periods. It can slightly change the tone, becoming lighter especially on light tones (family of whites). In case of element additions in a second moment, these tone changes cannot be perfectly replicated and may not match exactly the original shade. This issue cannot be considered cause for a complaint.

For generations the “mission” of De Castelli has been to enhance the natural metals such as iron, steel, brass and copper, making them unique thanks to dedicated and sophisticated mechanical or chemical treatments. The chromatic and aesthetic effects created are peculiar and highly distinctive. The metals of De Castelli are protected only by transparent paints, in full respect of the core of the metal used.

Natural material extracted from quarry. Matt finish. The natural stones used by Boffi for the production of tops, panels, back panels, sinks, washbasins or bathtubs are always given a dedicated stain and oil-repellent and waterproof treatment to guarantee a high protection.
