Designer Giulio Gianturco

Born in 1953, graduated in Medicine and Surgery, he has taken part in many races and appreciates the qualities of stainless steel. He took up design as a hobby.

In the early nineties he started drawing and creating his first pieces in technical materials (316 stainless steel and bakelite fiber) in a workshop specialized in mechanical construction.

In 1995 he designed Minimal for Boffi, taps and bathroom accessories in stainless steel. In 1997 production began on Matilde, a shower complete with Plexiglas walls in feminine forms.In 2002 he designed Air for Boffi, a ceiling fan with three blades, of aeronautical derivation.
He collaborates as well with brands of the bathroom sector: he also worked with KWC, with Foscarini on the creation of a lamp, with Agape for showers and with Techimpex for the design of a table cooking system.

In 2005, for Fiorenzato, he created professional household appliances and for Castelmac-Icematic he designed a built-in icemaker.

On April 2005 Elle Deco International Design Award gave a prize to Kaa shower, designed for Agape, and on November it won the Design Plus material vision in Frankfurt.In the same year the Fire extinguisher for Boffi has been presented and it won the Wallpaper design award 2006.

Some of his projects have been awarded: KAA of Agape EDIDA 2005 and DESIGNPREIS 2007, FIRE di Boffi WALLPAPER AWARD in 2006 and GUENDALINA for Fizan the DESIGN INDEX 2010.In 2008, after a sabbatical period in the Usa, he has left the medical profession in order to work exclusively for design projects.

In 2011 he began a collaboration with REXA DESIGN for a bathroom project made in Corian, and designed a series of handles for PAMAR.

In 2013, he presented for the company MAKRO the HAMMAM PROJECT and in 2014 HIDDEN, a washbasin that is concealed within a wooden box. He also presented, G-BICYCLE, a project for a bike that can be disassembled, scheduled to be produced in 2015.

In 2016 for Fantini he launches THERMAE, a line of faucets dedicated to the spas and SPA. Stainless steel 316L.

For Makro he presents LIFE shower system, a shower tray with swivel platform, fitted wall and body dryer, while for Brooks England LTD he designs a bicycle shelf in leather and aluminium.

In 2017 he presents ADELE, a rechargeable LED lamp in Technogel ® for 8light. The LIFE project is rewarded with the ADI DESIGN INDEX 2017.

In 2018 presents ANOTHER LIFE, an easy way to recycle plastic bottles and turn them into showers and shower heads. Also for 8-Light draws and designs HUGO a tray in Iroko and Technogel for wireless charging.
