To celebrate nine decades of adventures in an unforgettable evening, on Sunday 14 April Boffi set a spectacular event at the late Baroque Rotonda della Besana, the perfect backdrop for an evening that was a perfect fusion of design, history, and art.
Piero Lissoni’s Novanta kitchen took center stage in the architecture, under the octagonal dome of the former church, with an impressive multimedia setup.
As in a tableau vivant in the background, scenes from the kitchen of the film “The Cook, the Thief, His Wife and Her Lover” paid homage to the visionary British director Peter Greenaway and offered a sophisticated example of convivial scenography in the spaces of an eclectic extraordinary kitchen set up by Paola Moretti.
In an atmosphere that was both conceptual and sensual, inspired by the genre of still life and the interplay of crosspollinations and contrasts, the real and the virtual world came together, as well as tradition and design, beauty and culture, solemnity and transgression, the mundane and the iconic.
The event was conceived by Boffi|DePadova’s Creative Director Chiara Tombari and realised with the collaboration of Studio Costacurta.
The magic extended outdoors, where the historic architecture was bathed in the warm glow of a multitude of candles and embraced by soft, swaying plants, with cascades of greenery adorning the loggia.
